Student veterans recognized with presentation of honor cords

Athens, Ga. – Thirty-nine University of Georgia graduating student veterans are being recognized with honor cords to commemorate their achievements; the cords are bestowed annually by the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC). The honor cords are typically presented to student veterans by UGA President Jere W. Morehead at the SVRC’s annual Honor Cord and Awards Ceremony, which was not held this year due to state and federal guidance on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students receiving honor cords, their degrees and military affiliations are:

“Our graduating student veterans have proven their ability to persist and succeed,” said Mandy Levi, interim director of the Student Veterans Resource Center. “We are proud of their accomplishments, and we join their families and friends in congratulating them on their graduations.”

The presentation of honor cords is made possible by a gift from the UGA Parents Leadership Council.

The Student Veterans Resource Center is a department within UGA Student Affairs.
